Dating was a problem for her because of the overly-protectiveness that was Hiei. She would tell every single person that ridiculed her that she was raised knowing that she should make her own judgments about things and to not let the ideas of others influence what she thinks, and that she can love anyone no matter what the gender or even if they were a human or demon. From grade school to high school, there were the classmates, and even teachers, who occasionally spouted their two cents on how their lifestyle was "wrong", or that it was an abomination, but Shiori would always come to her family’s defense, even if it meant expulsions. Going to school was a totally different story. She knew Hiei simply as Papa and Kurama as Daddy and never thought twice about it. Growing up with two fathers was never an issue with Shiori.
